TV Guide Best on the Box Awards, announced today, see Maori Television nominated in 10 categories including best drama, actor, rising star, sports, lifestyle show, news and current affairs.
Chief Executive Jim Mather is thrilled to see Maori Television actors, presenters and programmes nominated for the country’s leading people’s choice awards. “Our 10 nominations are a credit to the commitment of everyone who worked on these shows. It’s now up to our viewers to vote” he says.
Kaitangata Twitch star Te Waimarie Kessell, who was only 13 at the time of filming, is nominated for Rising Star.
TV Guide Editor Julie Eley says this year’s list of Best on the Box nominees features a lot of young talent.
